Founded by the Air France-KLM group, Transavia serves over 100 destinations in France, Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. The low-cost airline has a fleet consisting mainly of Boeing 737-800s, and to a lesser extent Boeing 737-700s. A partial fleet renewal is underway, with an order for Airbus A320neo and A321neo aircraft placed in the second half of 2021. From Terminal 1 of Lyon Saint-Exupéry Airport (LYS), Transavia serves some thirty destinations with direct flights to major cities and tourist destinations in Europe and the Mediterranean basin.

Travelling with Transavia means you benefit from a quality service, appreciated by passengers according to the reviews they leave. The low-cost airline offers :

  • Access to a wide range of food products and hot and cold drinks available for sale (means of payment accepted: euro coins, bank cards, restaurant vouchers for food products);

  • Assistance desk and special assistance to and from the aircraft for wheelchair users;

Luggage

Hand luggage
Passengers boarding a Transavia aircraft may take :

  • 1 accessory measuring no more than 40 x 30 x 20 cm (handbag, laptop case, etc.) to be placed under the seat in front of them.
  • One large piece of cabin baggage measuring 55 x 35 x 25 cm and weighing a maximum of 10 kg (for customers who have chosen the "BASIC" or "PLUS" fares and wish to travel with a larger piece of baggage by taking out a paying option).
  • One piece of hand baggage measuring 40 x 30 x 20 cm, and one large piece of cabin baggage measuring 55 x 35 x 25 cm for customers who have chosen the "MAX" fare.
  • 1 umbrella or 1 walking stick;
  • 1 bag with items purchased at the duty free shop;

 

The dimensions of hand baggage and accessories include wheels and handles. If the weight or size is exceeded, the baggage must be transported in the hold at an additional cost (maximum weight of 10 kg for hand baggage and small bags or accessories).

Suitcases and checked luggage
The fare depends on the weight of your luggage and the route:

  • 15 kg;
  • 20 kg (included in the Plus tariff);
  • 25 kg;
  • 30 kg (included in the Max fare);
  • 40 kg;
  • 50 kg.


By checking in your hold baggage when you book online, you benefit from lower fares.
You can also carry special luggage for an additional fee: fishing equipment, surfboards or wakeboards, skis or snowboards, diving equipment, etc.

Loyalty programme


Transavia passengers can join the Flying Blue programme, which is shared by Air France, KLM, Aircalin, Kenya Airways, Transavia and TAROM.

You can earn Miles by booking your flight, staying at a partner hotel, or making purchases at participating retailers. The Miles earned can be used to purchase Prime tickets from Sky Team members, options or upgrades, nights in a partner hotel, items or services with offers listed on the Flying Blue Store. Miles can also be donated to friends and family, a charity or a start-up company. 

The Flying Blue programme allows passengers to earn Experience Points, which determine their status: Explorer, Silver, Gold, Platinum. Each status entitles the traveller to exclusive benefits. For example, Gold and Platinum travellers have free access to SkyTeam lounges worldwide, and priority access with SkyPriority. Platinum status also entitles passengers to personalised assistance, the Platinum Service Line.
