How to anticipate your arrival at the airport?

We recommend you to anticipate your arrival at the airport.

- For a flight in France or Europe, plan to arrive 2 to 2.5 hours before departure.
- For a flight outside Europe, plan to arrive 3 hours before your departure.

First step: check in. If you have already done so online before your arrival, that's perfect. Head to the check-in desk for your flight to collect your boarding pass (if applicable) and drop off your luggage (if applicable). This is indicated and can be viewed from the airport screens, or directly from your smartphone on the Lyon Aéroport website or mobile app.

How to check in online in advance?

Checking in online in advance allows you to:

- Save time by going directly to security checks, without going through check-in (except to check in hold baggage);
- Select your seat.

How does online check-in work?

In the 24 hours before your flight, connect to the airline's website:

- Choose your seat
- Print your boarding pass
- Go directly to the boarding gate if you do not have checked baggage or to the baggage drop-off counter if you do.
- To check in online, go to your airline's website.

Online check-in does not apply to:

- Travelers accompanied by a baby
- Travelers requiring special assistance (child traveling alone, animals, passengers with reduced mobility, etc.)

Waiting times at security checks

⚠️ Please note that depending on your arrival time at the airport, there may be a long wait at security checks. To avoid waiting, book your time slot at security checks using our service ZenLine.

On the home page, you will find an estimate of the waiting time at security checks. This time is an estimate given for information purposes only, corresponding to the wait between the terminals and the security check lines. It does not concern the processing time for security check operations. As a reminder: regardless of the waiting time observed at the checks, we advise you to arrive between 2 and 3 hours before departure.
