Lost or Damaged Baggage?

Don't worry, the baggage service is here to help!

The baggage service will do everything possible to locate your missing baggage. Below, you will find a list of the different baggage services, whether it is your airline or ground handling assistants. The baggage service is responsible for handling missing or damaged baggage (according to each airline’s specific conditions).

In any case, it is important to file a report with the baggage service or at the dedicated kiosks before leaving the baggage claim area. This will allow you to obtain a file reference number, which will enable the search process to begin and allow you to be contacted regarding your baggage.

Reporting a Missing Bag :

For some airlines, you can submit a report on their website within the first 24 hours after your flight’s arrival.

If you have a file reference number, you will be contacted promptly without any further action required on your part (cases are usually resolved within 1 to 2 days, up to a maximum of 5 days). If you do not have a reference number, please contact your airline as soon as possible.

Damaged Baggage: Assistance & Claims

For damaged baggage, compensation and claim processing depend on:

- The type of damage to your baggage
- The contractual and commercial policies of each airline
Only the airline can assess and process your request, provided that a damage report has been filed immediately upon discovering the damage at baggage claim upon arrival. This report must be made at the baggage service desk or at the dedicated kiosks in the baggage claim area. You will then receive a file reference number, allowing you to be contacted regarding your case.

Where to File Your Claim?

If you did not file your report (for delayed or damaged baggage) in the baggage claim area, please visit the baggage service located behind the Monop'Daily/RELAV store. There, you can contact the relevant ground handling company via the intercom, depending on your airline, or submit your claim directly on your airline’s website.

Important Information :

- Baggage handling is the responsibility of the airline or its ground handling agent.
- Lyon Airport’s customer service cannot intervene in baggage claims. For any questions, please contact your airline directly.
- To learn more about your rights as an air passenger, visit the website of legal reglementation.
