Rhônexpress, a tramway connection in 30 minutes

The Rhônexpress tram/train shuttle connects Lyon city centre to Lyon Saint-Exupéry TGV station, located just 2 minutes from Terminals 1 and 2 of the airport.

Rhônexpress offers several stations in the heart of the Lyon conurbation: Lyon Part-Dieu station, connected to the metro (line B), Vaulx-En-Velin La Soie, or in Meyzieu ZI.

    Public transport in Lyon

    Several bus lines serve Lyon Airport, enabling you to reach the city centre or to travel freely throughout the agglomeration.

    Are you heading for the airport? Bus line 47, in the direction of Saint-Laurent-de-Mure Maréchal Juin, serves the airport at the Aéroport Lyon Saint-Exupéry Gare Routière stop. 

    Do you want to go to the city centre? You can take bus line 47 towards Meyzieu Zi, and get off at the terminus. A connection with the T3 tramway line at Meyzieu Zi will take you to the Part-Dieu Villette station and the B metro line.

    You can also reach the airport from Genas with bus line 48.

    Bus lines may be affected by traffic conditions, so please anticipate any traffic jams at peak times.

      The individual car

      The airport is located close to the A432 motorway, connected to Lyon city centre by the A43 (E711) motorway.

      Are you travelling to the airport from Lyon city centre? Several car parks have been set up near the terminals. You can book your parking online and find a guaranteed space when you arrive at the airport. 

      You choose the P5 car park? Free shuttle buses provide a connection between the parking area and the airport terminals.

        Taxis

        Are you heading for the airport? Lyon's taxis operate between the city centre and Lyon Saint-Exupéry Airport (LYS). Your driver will drop you off in front of the terminal of your choice.

        Do you want to go to the city center? The indications available in your terminal will lead you to the nearest taxi rank.

        Two-wheelers (bicycles, motorbikes, scooters)

        A sheltered bike park is available at Lyon Saint-Exupéry airport (LYS). It is located just outside the TGV station, under the footbridge linking the station to the airport.

        Motorbikes and scooters can be parked in the airport car parks at reduced rates. You can go to the P0 car park (open car park) and park in the spaces provided.

        Heading to the airport? Users of carsharing applications regularly offer rides from Lyon city centre to the airport.

        Do you want to go to the city centre? A carsharing terminal is available at the exit of the SNCF station. It can be used as a meeting point, and also allows you to book a carsharing journey.

        Frequently asked questions about transport

        Here are the questions most frequently asked by our passengers.

        To benefit from the cheapest prices and guarantee a space in one of our secure car parks, we advise you to book your space as early as possible. You can book your space online 9 months before your departure date and up to 12 hours prior to departure.

        If you enter the registration plate of your vehicle in advance, the barrier will open automatically for you when you enter and leave the car park.

        There are several car rental firms on the airport site. They are located outside the terminal buildings and can be reached using our free shuttle bus service.  

        Book your car rental

        We operate a 24/7 free shuttle bus between car park P5 and all the airport terminals. It runs every 10 to 20 minutes. Count 10 minutes to reach the terminal buildings from car park P5 by shuttle bus.

        You can walk to the terminal buildings and the TGV station quickly and easily from car park P4. Car park P4 is not served by shuttle bus.

        There is no fixed shuttle bus timetable so we are unable to give you a precise pick-up/drop-off time.

        The terminal buildings can only be reached from car park P5 by shuttle bus. On average, the journey takes 10 minutes.  

        Tip: If you have a lot of luggage, why not book our valet parking service to simplify the journey between your car and the terminal buildings?
