Climbing to the top of the Ribat

The Ribat is a defensive work built in 796. Its objectives: to watch over the enemy's army but also to devote itself to prayer – two rooms are dedicated to it. You can take the 90 steps of the Ribat and, from its summit, admire the 360° view that allows you to discover the city and the Mediterranean Sea.

Strolling in the souk of Monastir, located in the heart of the Medina (the old town), is an opportunity to discover the local crafts. Leather bags, wicker baskets, traditional costumes, blankets, shirts, ceramic bowls and other typical products await you in all these colourful little shops.
