Formalities for travelling

To travel to Toronto, a valid individual passport is required, also for children. It must be valid for at least one day past the duration of the intended stay in Canada.

Currency exchange offices and ATMs are located in the two terminals at the airport. The local currency in Toronto is the Canadian dollar. For your information, 1 CAD = 0.69 USD.

Avis, Budget, Dollar/Thrifty, Enterprise, Hertz and National/Alamo all have desks at level 1 of the parking lots connected to the terminals.

Discount, E-Z, Trans Canada, Fox and Payless are among the companies located outside the site. Pre-booked free minibuses transport passengers to off-site agencies of car rental companies. Guests can also use the free LINK train to get there.


  • Services on Departure

There is an interesting selection of bars and restaurants throughout the airport, both prior to and after security checks. There are Italian restaurants, fast-food places and Irish pubs.

Toronto's Pearson International Airport has many stores. Options before the security check in terminal 1 include a newsagent and a travel accessory store, while terminal 3 offers several souvenir shops. Areas after the security check in both terminals offer a wider selection, including tax-free stores.

Baby-changing rooms are available at both terminals.

A porter service and baggage lockers are available at both terminals.


Transfer from airport to Toronto

Toronto's Pearson International Airport is located close to several major transportation routes. It's easy to get to the Greater Toronto Area using public transport.

  • The GO Transit bus service, free from the terminals, allows travelers to travel to downtown Toronto and its suburbs. To access it, go to columns Q2, Q3 and Q4 of the second sidewalk, on the ground floor of Terminal 1.
  • The LINK terminal train is free and allows passengers to move from one terminal to another.
  • Taxis and licensed limousines at the airport offer fair and flat rates to allow travelers to get to their destination of choice. They arrive at the designated boarding point on the sidewalk of the terminals at the arrivals level (Terminal 1: Door D - Terminal 3: Doors D, E and F).
