Loyalty programmes


Turkish Airlines is a member of Star Alliance and has its own loyalty programme: Miles&Smiles.
It gives you access to a host of benefits and promotional offers that vary according to passenger status. There are four tiers.

Classic, from 0 miles
Passengers can get award tickets for flights with Turkish Airlines from Lyon (or elsewhere) or other Star Alliance airlines, get an upgrade, or enjoy preferential rates from car hire partners.
 
Classic Plus, from 25,000 miles
In addition to the benefits of Classic status, earn points on hotel bookings, check in at the Business Class desk (domestic flights), get an additional 10 kg baggage allowance and access Turkish Airlines lounges and all the services they offer (domestic and international flights). Family members can also earn miles on the same account.

Elite, from 40,000 miles
In addition to the benefits of the previous tiers, check-in at the Business Class desk for all flights, dedicated telephone number, the chance to give your travel companions access to special rates and Turkish Airlines lounges, a 20 kg baggage allowance and the option of taking additional hand luggage on transatlantic flights. At Istanbul Atatürk Airport, Elite members can use a special passport control lane.

Elite Plus, from 80,000 miles
Elite Plus passengers also benefit from two free upgrades per year, an additional 25 kg baggage allowance and a special entrance (Gate E) to Istanbul Airport; they can also give an Elite card to a friend or relative.
 

Members can purchase miles to access a higher status. Miles&Smiles credit card holders earn miles on their purchases.

The programme is free to join and you can sign up online, by phone or via a travel agent.

Services on board


Turkish Airlines offers many services on board. All passengers have access to à la carte dining, the airline’s entertainment system (music, films, news, games) and can charge their mobile devices. On some aircraft, you can also send emails.

Economy

  • Flying with Turkish Airlines in economy class means flying in comfort. Reclining seat, adjustable headrest and footrest and 78 cm legroom awaits.
  • From Lyon, each passenger has a maximum 30 kg baggage allowance in Economy class.

 
Business

  • Priority check-in, massage seat that turns into a bed, adjustable table, complimentary toiletries bag, chef who cooks to order on transatlantic flights, individual lighting, 40 kg maximum baggage allowance per passenger in Business class.
  • You also earn more miles on Business class tickets.


Good to know

  • Special charges apply for the transport of sports equipment or animals
  • A companion can be designated for children flying alone
  • The UM (unaccompanied minor) service is free.
