Why travel to Saint Martin?

Sumptuous landscapes, an exceptional setting and a unique climate for an unforgettable stay in the heart of the Caribbean Sea

The island of Saint-Martin is an island in the French West Indies. Nicknamed the "Saint-Tropez of the Caribbean", it is divided into 2 territories belonging to 2 distinct countries: in the north, Saint-Martin, a French territory, and in the south, Sint Maarten, a Dutch territory. The fusion of these two cultures gives birth to this unique space where you can discover a mix of traditions, activities and gastronomy.

The island of Sint Maarten is home to several seaside resorts and welcomes visitors from all over the world every year in search of the fine sandy beaches and secluded, sunny coves that this privileged area conceals.

In the north and south of the island, you will have access to paradisiacal landscapes, preserved fauna and flora, but also to an exceptional heritage. The Saint-Louis fort, for example, bears witness to a rich cultural heritage and allows you to enjoy an exceptional panorama of the entire bay. Combine a relaxing stay with cultural enrichment, all under the Caribbean sun.

From Lyon, you can make the most of various flights to the Caribbean Sea. Don't wait any longer to take a flight from Lyon to Saint Martin and enjoy an exceptional stay in a privileged setting.

Where and when to go to Saint Martin ?

Your desires, our recommendations!

There are no direct flights between Lyon Saint-Exupéry (LYS) and Princess Juliana (SXM) and Saint-Martin Grand Case (SFG) airports, so you will have to take a flight with a stopover. Your travel time will therefore depend in part on the length of the stopover. To cover the 7,000 kilometres between Lyon and Saint Martin, Air France offers an 11:55 hour journey with a 2:20 hour stopover at Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) airport.

Between Lyon Saint-Exupéry (LYS) and Saint-Martin Princess Juliana (SXM) the airlines Air France and KLM offer flights with stopovers in Paris Charles-de-Gaulle (CDG) and Amsterdam-Schiphol (AMS).

Depending on the season and the occupancy rate of the aircraft, the price of your ticket may be higher or lower. To get the best fares, it is strongly recommended that you book your tickets as early as possible. Also, if you have some flexibility in your travel dates, weekday tickets are usually cheaper than weekend tickets.

If you are travelling to the airport by car, you can book your parking space in advance on the internet to ensure that your car is safely parked.

In Saint-Martin, the year is divided into two main periods: the dry season (from December to May) and the wet season (from June to November).

The dry season lends itself more to summer activities, such as water sports in the heart of the Caribbean Sea, swimming, lazing on the beach, but also hiking inland to discover the most beautiful landscapes. The wet season, on the other hand, is less favourable for tourism on the island, but you can still enjoy very pleasant sunny spells, as well as much more advantageous rates.

Whatever the season, you can enjoy the culture, heritage and local festivals and traditions that punctuate the life of the islanders all year round.
