The area around Thalang Road is home to colonial Sino-Portuguese-style buildings with colourful facades. Many of the houses have a shop on the ground floor and living quarters on the upper floor.

Buddhism is the most widespread religion in Thailand, and many temples and monuments are testament to this faith. Built on Nakkerd Hill, the giant statue of Big Buddha towers over Chalong Bay at a height of 45 metres. The vast esplanade that surrounds it offers a panoramic view of the enchanting landscapes of Phuket Island. Forest-covered hills, coves, bays, beaches and nearby islands create a heavenly setting. Many macaques live nearby, for the enjoyment of children.

Exploring the Khao Phra Thaeo National Park
