Tivat

Tivat, Adriatic light

Bay of Kotor, chic marina and azure-colored coves

In the south-east of Europe, in Montenegro, the small coastal town of Tivat borders the mythical bay of Kotor and unfolds a Mediterranean lifestyle under the light of the Dinaric mountains. Once turned towards the naval arsenal, it has metamorphosed with Porto Montenegro, a luxury marina where yachts, shops and terraces line up facing the shimmering waters. People come here for its beaches, from the long bay of Plavi Horizonti to the coves of the Luštica peninsula, for its seaside walks and to radiate towards Kotor and Perast, historical jewels of the bay. The atmosphere is soft and elegant: a mix of Montenegrin tradition and modernity that seduces both lovers of relaxation and lovers of coastal walks. About two hours flight from Lyon, it is the perfect gateway to an Adriatic getaway.

Porto Montenegro Tivat
1

Porto Montenegro, the marina that changed the face of Tivat

In the heart of Tivat, Porto Montenegro is a small world apart: elegant quays, designer shops, art galleries and restaurants on the water. We stroll along the promenade, we observe the large yachts moored and we sit down for a chic Mediterranean cuisine, all with the mountains in the background. The museum space of Maritime Heritage recalls the naval heritage of the site, offering a beautiful cultural interlude between two shopping sprees. A signature step that tells the transformation of the city, from shipyard to high-end softness

Beaches and Luštica peninsula: the blue in large

Fancy clear waters and a day at the beach? Cap on Plavi Horizonti, natural lagoon with a gentle slope, ideal for families and prolonged swims. Then push towards the peninsula of Luštica, where trails lead to more wild coves and points of view on the open sea. Between kayaking, paddling and relaxing breaks, we taste a more natural Montenegro, just minutes from the city

Central promenade, parks and village of Gornja Lastva

The promenade facing the sea punctuates the end of the day: cafes, sailboats and the City Park (large park created in the 19th century) offer a relaxing setting. For a glimpse of the Montenegrin tradition, go up to Gornja Lastva, a village perched on stone houses and old alleys, from where one embraces the bay and the mountains. A heritage parenthesis to combine with the urban sweetness of the center.
