"Trendy, multicultural, creative or even gourmet, Copenhagen is not only renowned for its postcard decor and the quality of its beer bars"

Vikings turn up the volume

An ideal destination for music lovers of all genres, the Danish capital is also a great music lover who, each year, like Montreux, Montreal or Vienne (the Frenchwoman), hosts one of the most famous jazz festivals in the planet, in February and July.

Originally purely summer, the Copenhagen Jazz festival has been available in winter since 2001. With hundreds of concerts given as part of the official program, but also spontaneously in random neighborhoods, the fruit of a long tradition. Tivoli Park, a must-see in the city, is the scene of many free concerts throughout the year.
A newcomer has just invited himself to this already busy scene, with the launch in August 2017 by the Dessner brothers (guitarists of The National), of the Haven Festival, on the Refshaleøens industrial site in the port of Copenhagen. A place the size of the spirit of this new meeting, at the crossroads of the arts, gastronomy and beer. Alongside Iggy Pop, Beach House and Feist, a host of artists, renowned chefs and brewers from around the world have laid the groundwork, it is hoped, for an event that will last.

To get to the concert venues, the top is the bike, which is rather trendy in a city that aims for 50% of bicycle trips by 2025, and perfect illustration of the hygge spirit that bathes the city.
For sleeping in a city where the cost of accommodation, Nordic countries requires, remains high, good advice: the Urban House Copenhagen, a self-service youth hostel ideally located in the district of Vesterbro.
