Passengers flying with EL AL can bring a personal item into the cabin (handbag, laptop bag, duty-free purchases, etc.), regardless of their ticket. For carry-on baggage, the rules vary depending on the ticket type:

Economy Class (Lite and Classic): Only one carry-on bag is allowed, with a maximum weight of 8 kg.
Economy Class (Flex): Two carry-on bags are allowed, but the total weight must not exceed 12 kg.
Premium and Business Classes: Passengers may bring two carry-on bags, with a total weight of 12 kg in Premium and 20 kg in Business.

Checked Baggage

The weight and number of checked bags vary depending on the class and ticket type:

Economy Class (Lite): One 23 kg bag can be added for an additional fee.
Economy Class (Classic and Flex): One 23 kg bag is included in the ticket price.
Premium Class: Two 23 kg bags are included.
Business Class: Two 32 kg bags are included.

For all ticket types, it is possible to pre-book up to 5 checked bags of 23 kg each, under certain conditions.

Additional fees apply for special baggage, such as sports equipment or musical instruments.

Loyalty Program

EL AL passengers can join the Matmid loyalty program and start earning points from their very first flight! These points can be used to redeem award tickets in all cabins to any of the airline’s destinations, and can also be exchanged for savings with the Cash & Points option.

In addition to award tickets, Matmid members enjoy numerous benefits such as upgrades, extrabaggage, and much more. Points can also be earned and redeemed for hotel bookings or car rentals worldwide.

Members can keep their points for 18 months from the date of acquisition, with the option to extend their validity by staying active. Higher program statuses, such as Platinum and Executive, as well as FLY CARD holders with Silver status, receive additional free benefits through the EXTRAS program, including additional baggage and upgrades.
