At the airport: services dedicated to families

A simplified journey for families with the Familliz service

Lyon Airport offers the Familliz service, designed to support families throughout their journey at the airport. This service includes a dedicated security check line, baby kits in case of delays or flight cancellations, as well as medical assistance in emergencies. Additionally, strollers are provided for free inside the departure terminal, making it easier for you to move around with your child!

 Children's play areas

To entertain your kids before the flight, the airport has fun areas. For example, the Looping store in Terminal 1 offers toys and aviation-themed games. There is also a dedicated children's area with an animation corner and a digital space!

 Lounges accessible to families

If you'd like to relax before your flight, know that the airport lounges welcome children. A reduced price is offered for children aged 2 to 12, making lounge access more affordable for families!

On the plane: tips for a smooth journey with your baby

 Cabin baggage preparation

Make sure to pack everything your child may need in your cabin baggage: diapers, wipes, spare clothes, snacks, and toys to keep them entertained during the flight.

 Stroller management

You can use your stroller until the airplane door. It will then be placed in the hold and returned to you upon arrival. Some airlines also allow you to transport a stroller and a car seat for free in the hold!

 In-flight entertainment

Plan age-appropriate activities to keep your child entertained during the flight: books, games, cartoons on a tablet, etc.

During the stay: organization and flexibility

Traveling with a baby is all about adapting smoothly. To make the most of your vacation, focus on simplicity and preparation!

Choose accommodations with baby-friendly amenities such as a crib, high chair, or a bathtub. Try to maintain your child’s routines (nap time, meals, comfort items, etc.), as it will help them feel more secure.

Don’t forget a first aid kit with the essentials: thermometer, baby pain reliever, sunscreen, saline solution, etc., and bring what you need to feed your baby while on the go (bottles, baby food jars, utensils).

Finally, keep the days low-key: opt for short outings, frequent breaks, and quiet moments with the family. The key? Flexibility, without pressure!
