Lyon-Saint Exupéry airport’s Future Terminal 1 project has been entirely carried out by the Aéroports de Lyon teams. With 70,000 m² over 3 floors, 4,500 m² of innovative baggage reclaim space and 10,000 m² of retail areas, this terminal will eventually double the airport's surface area and bring its capacity to 15 million passengers a year.
Initiated in 2011, inaugurated in october 2017, the project, (building, plane parks and equipments) represents a 210 million euro investment. The end of the work is scheduled for summer 2018, with the link between Hall A and Hall B of Terminal 1.
From requirement definition and preliminary studies to project ownership and monitoring of construction work , all Aéroports de Lyon departments came together to complete this project. The commissioning phase was also important, and was prepared for several months within ORAT (Operational Readiness and Airport Transfer). Aéroports de Lyon Management & Services would like to use these unique skills for airport projects in France and worldwide.
