Aéroports du Cameroun in Lyon-Saint Exupéry
In late January, the Aéroports de Lyon Sustainable Development Department welcomed Crescence Nandtoungou, head of the Environment Department at the Cameroon airport company Aéroports du Cameroun, for a training session on the issues at stake in environment management and its implementation. The training covered the tools and methods for successfully deploying an Environment Management System at Aéroports du Cameroun.
This session is part of the agreement signed between Aéroports de Lyon Management & Services and Aéroports du Cameroun for conducting the Environment and Social Audit of the Yaoundé and Douala airports. The agreement also provided for the organisation of public consultations in partnership with APAVE Cameroun. The meetings held in neighbouring villages on 5 January 2017 in Yaoundé and 6 January 2017 in Douala opened up dialogue between Aéroports du Cameroun, the local authorities and residents, notably with regard to the impact of airport activities on the environment.
